I am so relieved that we’re finally done with our almost-a-month project exam. Everything went smoothly from the presentation and all. We were working with a trash metal band called Neongod and created a new profile for them. It ranged from a new logo, cd-cover for their EP, posters and etc. The band gave us a theme to work on which was the World War II. With it I took the liberty to create the cd-cover while the rest of the group worked with their respective assignments.
From this picture of an old helmet we borrowed from the war museum here in Bergen…
…I managed to make something like this:

I am very satisfied with the final result. What do you think guys?
That’s all.
P.S.
Everyone is invited to join!

L♥ve it Charles, the message is vivid – must be a good (rock) CD. I am not sure with the initials, it reminds me of some Hitler era.
Overall, great COVER.
Thank you dear K! Honestly, I haven’t listened that much to their music since it’s not really my taste. But as a designer I have to somewhat immerse myself to their music genre to come up with something like this.
I love it. U’ve made a good job. Now run to see Avatar in 3D.
Thanks Eric! Hmmm I am also intrigue with that film. I guess I will check it out as well.
Ang galing at ang ganda Charles
I would love to do something like that.
Thank you Russ!
Oh, that`s wery nice! That could easily have been at the cover of a war movie or something. Cool..
Thank you! Yes, it can also function as a film poster!
Came here through Tanya’s site (NetChick.net)
Great work on the album artwork & I’m definitely interested in reading more of your entries.
Cheers!
Thanks Rebecca and I hope you’ll enjoy your stay in my humble net home. LOL
I think it is FANTSASTIC, Charles. Truly. It says so much about that time. The Fence is a BRILLIANT Idea, my dear, and with the Helmet hanging on it….Very Very Powerful And Moving, too!
Beautiful Work! If I was the teacher, you would get an A+
Thank you Naomi! It means alot to me especially coming from you.
I think it’s very clever with looking from both sides of the fence. After all, wars are like that. Brilliant design, well done Charles! Have a merry Christmas!
Thank you and that’s true dear. Advance Merry Chirstmas to you too!
You are very creative!
This is a fantastic job done.
Especially the red N logo on the helmet and the greyish tones overall, match perfectly with the War theme!!
All the Best!
Thank you Astro! I had to somewhat etch the N logo so it would look like it’s part of the helmet.
ayos! well done. not sure if i’d like to listen to trash metal, though
Thank you and me either.
Good designing. The bullet hole is clear.
NetChick sent me here.
Thank you! It’s not really a bullet hole, but just a hole which is a part of the helmet’s design.
Hey, that’s really clever, Charles! Catches the eye. It’s simple and effective.
Sort of like my brain, but without the effective caveat.
Thanks Heather! The band wanted something simple yet effective and that’s usually my design approach. It was really a relief work-wise that we’re on the same boat.
Wow! That’s very artistic! I like the result of the cd-cover, it really reveals metal band concept.
Thanks Rocky! Sometimes I am just amaze what Photoshop can do.
That is terrific!
Sending you much love and glorious holiday wishes. May peace and joy be yours in the new year!
Thanks Marti! I am so happy to see you here again!
Looks pretty cool.
Thanks Jack!
i like the idea!
love the simple typo, i like the idea of keeping it look like it’s typed with an old typewriter to mimic the WW2 times
not sure about the NEONGOD Cleareyes tho, which is the band name and which is the album name?
Thanks Grey! I think you missed the sentence where I wrote that Neongod is the band’s name. LOL
Neongod is their band name while Cleareyes is their EP name.
Love it! I especially love the simplicity. very powerful. Emily Dickinson wrote
“To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee.
One clover, and a bee.
And reverie.
The reverie alone will do, if bees are few.”
Wow, very cool! Looks great!
Very cool! Great work, Charles!
(P.S. Netchick sent me)
This is great art Charles! Clean, visual, with a clear message and provocative – it make one start thinking and imagine.
God Jul to you and Odd
What a very very nice idea! Wow, I love how you made the old helmet photo into a CD cover.
Very cool design!
