I attempted to update my blog to the latest Wordpress version and I failed miserably. I kept on getting this fatal error about insufficient memory and some other crap. I gave up and instead made some redesigning rather than realigning as planned. Plus, the old layout seemed like a chore when I update with new entries. Now I am back with the traditional blog style, but with something extra to titillate your senses. (It’s tested on Safari, Firefox, Opera and IE. With IE it looked a bit different and I am still wondering why.)
Also, thank you everyone for helping me out with my logo project. I made a new logo based upon what I’ve read from your comments. Here it is:

The logo reflects perfectly with the firm in mind. INNOV8 is innovate with the last 3 letters changed into a number. With that I am also aware that the number 8 represents infinity especially if you placed it horizontally. That’s why we have the slogan “Infinite design possibilities” because of it.
I chose the phoenix as an accompanying form or symbol because the phoenix is a mythical creature of infinity. Its life cycle is endless since it dies and rises again from its ashes. The different shades of purple was an unusual choice, but it’s perfect for a regal bird like the phoenix. In addition, it blended nicely with the elegant font. It screamed seriousness and professionalism without being boring.
The position of the phoenix’s wings were spread out as it flies to the top meaning that the firm will try its very best to meet the demands of its clients. And I emphasised more on the 8 and the phoenix with a plan that it can stand alone without the rest of the text and still people can recognise that it’s INNOV8.
When I presented my project, everyone was impressed and thought that it was really well planned and executed. I know that the logo is far from perfect. I still have some bits and pieces to tweak before I add it on my portfolio. I could not do this alone without the gracious help of my fellow bloggers. I am really really really grateful!
Lastly, I have 3 questions for you guys:
1. What browser do you primarily use?
2. Operating system or OS?
3. Blogging platform?
That’s all.
P.S.

love your new blog style. there’s always so much to see and appreciate.
in answer to your questions:
browser: firefox
OS: Mac OSX
blog system: blogger
kind regards, m.e.
Hello Mary! Thank you for the lovely compliment and also for answering my survey!
True, the older theme is hardcore, you need to customize the sidebars, the images for latest posts, albeit beautiful. Well this one looks neat no sidebars, so you can focus more on the writing.
LVe the logo, at least you incorporate the fonts with the wings.
I am still on WP2.8.4. Upgrading for me is sort of a dilemma. I do it manually. Maybe I just wait until the newest version 2.9 comes up.
I don’t use other browser, only Safari. I’m on Mac OS of course and I am a fan of WordPress.
I so agree K! Though I managed to fully customised it, the thing is everytime I make a new post I had to create a bunch of images or search for one for my main page. And for me it was really a hassle.
I am so annoyed that WP keeps on updating like almost every month now and their automatic update doesn’t really work that flawlessly. I am still stuck at WP 2.7.1 and I don’t know if I have plans to ever update.
2.7 version? No kidding? Could you can ask Ate Beng to do it for you since the automatic update never really works for me either.
I did the manual thing and updated successfully, but it needs me to upgrade my database in which it does nothing after I clicked the upgrade button. I tried other ways, but it was still nothing so I had to downgrade back to 2.7.1
Hey Charles!
I mainly use Firefox, though I do use Chrome from time to time.
OS? Win XP Pro on my desktop and Vista on my laptop. My wife uses OSX on her MacBook.
I use WP.
I tried to use Chrome and I really like how the way it looks like but there are some sites that I can’t view especially online banks here.
I’m on Mac using Snow Leopard. 85% of my web-browsing is on Firefox, 15% on Safari. For blogging, I’m using WordPress.
When I started blogging I used MovableType–and I would strongly discourage using MT–it’s obtuse, difficult, and hard to use.
I heard about MT before and I checked it out. It looked so complicated so I gave up.
Great new look, Charles. Very impressive. I use Firefox most of the time, but when internet connection crawls I switch to Chrome. OS – Vista. Platform – WordPress.
Congratulations on the successful presentation. That’s not a surprise – you’ve got excellent taste.
Thank you Jan! I heard that Chrome is indeed fast and I think I’ll try it again once it’s more compatible to sites that I normally visit.
Good work with the logo!

I LOVE The Logo Charles! It is Beautiful and I like all the things you said about why you chose the purple/lavender, etc/. etc., etc…..
I use IE all the time and I am on Blogger. I don’t know what OS means, so I cannot answer that one and I am not sure what #3 is except I THINK you are asking about Blogger…lol!.
Thank you very much Naomi! If you’re using IE it means your OS or operating system is Windows. And yes, your blogging platform is indeed Blogger. Hehehhe.
Lol at the infinity symbol – was it just me who mentioned it? Hehe. I didn’t realize it was deliberate hehe. Well, I didn’t know the byline was “infine design possibilities” Hehehe.
CONGRATS! It looks great! And purple exudes richness and royalty too. So that’s a great choice.
To answer your questions:
1) Firefox
2) Windows XP
3) Blogger.
Yes, you’re the only one who mentioned it hehehehe.
I thought you had migrated to Wordpress since your blog looked like a Wordpress blog. Now, I understand why you’re using disqus on your comment section. hehehe
Does it? Cool. I think it the template I chose was a copy from a WP template.
I’m still having some problems with it and I understand that WP is more SEO ready. lol. I have no knowledge about stuff like that (yet).
I’m also having some problems with Disqus at the moment. Boo! :p
I like your blog’s new look.Ü

Your new blog layout is FANTASTIC!
I haven’t changed my blog in the four years I’ve had it because I don’t have a clue how to. I wish I had half your talent for it.
I like the way the Innov8 logo turned out. The word/number play is very cool. Netchick spun me your way.
