Stimulating A Pornographic Mind

I just can’t believe that three great bloggers like Renny, Marti and The Artist awarded me the so-called Thinking Blogger Award on the same day. I was damn surprised since a skanky whore like me got a recognition like that. I am touched and honoured that you guys thought that my blog can make someone really think.

If you people are wondering why I am babbling such things because I really thought that my blog is shallow like me. I even noticed that some quasi-intellectual bloggers stay away from my blog. Despite the fact that I read their blogs and even drop a comment or two from time to time. It is not that I am sour graping or anything but how do you suppose to get to know other bloggers if one can be such a cold fish?

I might be superficial and use only 2 percent of my brain cells but at least I am friendly!

Do you guys have that kind of experience with some quasi-intellectual bloggers?

Okay back to the business at hand…

It is so hard to choose 5 blogs1 amongst a hundred of blogs that I read and love. Oh well here are my 5 choices:

For Crying Out Loud!

1. For Crying Out Loud! - I think I am one of the first reader of this blog. I watched this blog as it grows, changes of designs and themes. It’s always a lovely journey reading Talamasca’s rants and raves.

Here In The Hills

2. Here In The Hills - I always learn alot of stuff when I read Naomi’s blog. Stories written on this blog are just amazing, inspiring and beautiful. Makes me want to meet the writer in person.

Bryanboy

3. Bryanboy - The gayest gay that ever gayed can make someone think too!

Winsome Gunning Art Walk

4. Winsome Gunning Art Walk - The Artist always inspire me with her words of wisdom, her insights about one’s creative power and the encouragement she always give to her dear readers!

In Our Kitchen

5. In Our Kitchen - Jmom’s way of cooking is just fab. Most of her recipes are simple to make but orgasmically delicious!

That is a wrap for this meme.

By the way, I hate politics and stuff like that but I just can’t help what I heard while I was watching CNN about the massacre at Virginia Tech. I was so shocked at some gun association in the U.S. suggested. They said that why not all the students carry guns so they can defend themselves from lunatics. Even to the point of criticising some universities for banning guns in school. If that will happen the schools will turnout into a wild west or worst a warzone! Nice idea!2

Anyway, from the words of our dear beloved Miranda Priestley, “That’s all.”

Notes:

1. The award has some protocol that the receiver will choose his/her choice of 5 blogs that can make one think.[back]

2. I was just being sarcastic. God I hate guns and I am happy that in Norway has a strict gun control policy. Even the police can’t just go around carrying one unless they get a permission to do so. And crime rate in Norway is quite low. Crimes involves are usually auto theft or burglaries. In addition, most crimes are done by foreigners not by the locals. Learn more here.[back]

Yeah, I was surprised too when I came here to Norway that the local police do not carry (or show off) their guns. Whereas in Manila, those big-bellied policemen simply show off their guns as extensions of their cocks and even the security in a local family restaurant are gun-toting.

Nice blog recos you got there. Might visit one or two.

  2. Kyels sier:

    Nice recommendations!

    (:

  3. lutchi sier:

butter my muffin …missed writing that :D halo Chase,,,

  4. ghee sier:

im not surprised that you are awarded being a thinking blogger, but the fact that they did that at the same time is a kind of ego boosting, ryte? :)

i did experience the same,Charles.at first,i felt disappointed about it.but i realized that I was being friendly and they dont.so are you..so,it doesnt matter for me at all and I just maintain my real and friendly bloggy friends :)

  5. Kleo sier:

I’m so glad i got to your blog through Winsome’s… it’s been a short time i’ve been a visitor here, but i enjoy your humour (snarky sometimes but never hurtful) and reading about your life and your pleasures of the body and spirit! :D

  6. Wil sier:

quasi-intellectual bloggers? like who? feel free to name names. hehe. Alternati also listed me as one of the thinking bloggers. it’s pretty flattering, isn’t it? To think that we make people, well, think? :D

  7. I dunno, the main blog I think of as a “thinking blog” i have trouble reading because it ends up coming across as rather pompous.

    Nice list though!

  8. Ann sier:

    Congrats :)

I’ve met a lot of ‘cold fishes’. It’s kind of disappointing but well, it’s their lost.

  9. Ann sier:

*loss. Dammit, my grammar sucks in the morning.

  10. Kai sier:

I know, so weird, right? Instead of just banning guns, these idiots would rather allow everyone of us to be armed, which is basically like substracting some years off our lifespan. Only a moron would think that. 8O

  11. Xyla sier:

I’m one of Tala’s first readers too and I also witnessed how his blog “grew”.

And about the Vtech Massacre… I feel so sad about it. Really. I can’t see the point why he had to kill those innocent people. He should have killed himself at the very beginning. Grr.

  12. K sier:

BLOG SNOB - there are people in blogosphere fall into that category (I, sometimes do that - not in your blog, I don’t know why 8) ) but I just had to say, if I visit a blog that I like what I see/read, I leave messages eventhough they don’t return a visit, it didn’t matter. Sometimes, if a post is “too perfect”, I just read and don’t leave a comment.

Hey, thanks for the gift, I got it, I used it, I liked it. 8)

    • charles sier:

Well I never ignored a commenter. I usually tend to reply back. Yeah I also comment on blogs especially if I really like the entry. The times that I cant really comment on other bloggers is when I am not around and busy somewhere

  13. rhada sier:

What’s important is, a lot (and I mean a LOT) of people enjoy reading your blog. Extra bonus because you’re such a warm person, you reach out to your fellow bloggers and you’re very stimulating. ;-)

  14. Nan sier:

That is some good recommendations! And congratulations of getting the thinkers award yourself.

I don’t think you are as shallow as you would like to appear ;) But as long as you are yourself people will like you.

  15. Toe sier:

3 awards? Really cool Chase! Congratulations!

  16. Paddy sier:

Congratulations on the award! Yeah, there’s a few people who are a bit ‘too cool for school’ - but anyway, you’re the one getting the awards so fuck ‘em!

  17. mats sier:

    wow! congratulations Charles!

a lot of cold fishes? yeah, really and it is - their lost (for sure)

you got the award and they put you up on a HIGH!

way to go Charles :) ;)

  18. j3 sier:

oh lala! its been a while i havent been on here. i missed out a lot about you diva. will read further… ciao! 8)

  19. Lindsey sier:

Congratulations on the award :D. Woo.

The Virginia Tech massacre is really sad. I don’t know how I could take something like that.

  20. sexy mom sier:

i read your blogs, and i like your posts. i am warm (nor cold). if i don’t like your posts, why would i bother coming back :)

  21. andianka sier:

ey… thanks for dropping my blog… good thing i came to visit yours as well or you might include me with the ‘cold fishes’… hehe… kidding.

i never heard about the idea of letting guns go legally… i suck with updated news. haha! anyways, i share the sentiments of creating a wild wild west atmosphere if ever that is approved. the horror! who would want to go to school then? (good excuse though for those who hates school?)…

silly me… take care and you blog looks ‘tasty’! 8)

  22. Pogi sier:

Hehehe. I’ve been directed to the Bryan Boy website several times by friends, and I wasn’t surprised to find out that he is Filipino.

    Pinoys unite!

    ^_^

  23. pieterbie sier:

Wow, you actually use 2pct of your brain cells, you’ll have to teach me how to do that one of these days.
    I just react brainlessly.
Nope, seriously (do we have to?), the award is deserved as far as I’m concerned. Hell you get me to read your stuff and I’m downright lazy. Anything that goes more intellectual than the average Belgian newspaper is usually over the top for me. Ouch, I spent part of the morning with a selection of the crème de la crème of our press journalists, so I’d better hope that they don’t visit here, else I will be less a bunch of ‘friends’.
But then they won’t come here, this blog is far too intellectual for them.
Keep up the good work, man!

  24. pieterbie sier:

I just thought of something else, all the gay men I know are intelligent guys.
That gives you something to think about.
    Me? I’m below average.
    Thank God.

  25. Natasha sier:

Congrats on the awards! I’m not sure if your blogs make me think or not? hahaha.

All students having guns? That would be awful! There would be killings everywhere just because someone thought they were going to/getting attacked. The last thing we need are more guns.

I tend to comment on like.. everyones site, haha. And if they don’t comment back.. I don’t really notice because if they don’t write back, then I forget all about them x)

    • charles sier:

I agree I also forgot other blogs since they dont visit me anymore and I lose track. The usual people I manage to visit are the one’s usually present

  26. Congrats charles,…………your blog is interesting……..
enjoy staying here……..nice post and not boring….

i hate gun too, even seeing it………i am already trembling….

thanks, here is also strict for owning a personal gun……

“Even the police can’t just go around carrying one unless they get a permission to do so.” —————–here too.

by the way, thank you very much for the comments-compliments of our beauties….lol….

  27. shenski sier:

congrats on the recognition and I might as well visit your recommended sites :) well except for Jmom’s. I secretly get some recipes from her blog for our weekend home pigout! heheheh!

    Take care!

  28. shenski sier:

on the virgina tech: I have guns.. I have violence.. I even hate boxing and its a sport!

  29. fruityoaty sier:

Cool, congrats… All I can say is, “butter my muffin” has now become part of my everyday lexicon, LOL.

Yes, I have experienced “blog snobbery”, but I don’t sweat it. It’s their loss, not mine. Plenty of lovely people out there to butter my muffin. As for your experience, same applies - they’re missing out on the fabulousness that is Queer Chef.

I’ve surfed 4 out of 5 of your awardees. In definite agreement. I shall now check out this Talasmasca chick.

    L8tr days,
    Massa P

  30. alternati sier:

I absolutely agree with you in #1. Tala is a really gifted blogger. I visit numbers 3, 4 and 5 sporadically too.

Will guns be the cellphone/ ultimate accessory in the next few years then? Sad and just plain ridiculous logic some people have.

P.S. I’d surely love to try snus. I tried asking around here in the Philippines and noone has heard of it yet.

  31. sasha sier:

    Wow, congrats, Chase! :D

Will check out the blogs that you like nga.

Btw, it’s good to know Norway has a strict gun control policy. Also, that it as a low crime rate.

    Sana sa Pinas ganyan din.

    Happy Sunday, Chase!

  32. ompong sier:

sa dami ng readers mo, tingin ko may nababasa sila na maganda

  33. aCey sier:

wow, chase! that’s so fetch. hehe. congrats! 8)

  34. analyse sier:

now you made me thinking.. you see, your blog can make someone really think…. hmm cold fishes? oh yeah, they exist!.. me thinks you’re so malambing, that’s your impression on me..

  35. Monique sier:

Congrats on the award! I know what you mean about getting to know other bloggers and such. Sometimes I feel that mine is a little shallow but how much of or livescan we really reveal if so much of what we think or say we keep to ourselves? I know if I acutally posted about everything, certain “spies” if you will would run back and share that information…ugh I’m not 12 but I have to play it safe.

  36. r*yan sier:

i might just be one of those quasi-intellectual bloggers you’re referring to… although i don’t purport to be intellectual of any kind.

but yes, i’m guilty for not dropping by as often. no excuse really, just lazy.

i like to save up my chase experience ;)

    and kudos, award well deserved.

  37. Sharon sier:

I haven’t been really up to speed with some of those blogger awards, but if I knew how to do one …

(I am not sure if I have the brain power to do even that :)

I would award you one too.

So, maybe I should just make up my own blogger award to you isntead :)

  38. tina sier:

don’t ever think of your blog as something shallow.. coz one way or another you are showing and sharing lots of stuffs to your readers… and we all learn a great deal from them. :P we all learn from each other. :P

    Congrats! :)

  39. Felisa sier:

I actually posted about it right before I visited your site today.

I don’t understand the whole deal about how the pro-gun lobby has been strengthened after the Virginia Tech massacre. Wtf?! I don’t think everyone should have guns. Actually, I think no one should have guns. The day when everyone can carry guns here in the US is the day when I’ll be packing all my bags to move to Norway!

I try to drop by people’s blogs as often as I can. It doesn’t matter if people’s blogs are oh-so-deep or if they just make me laugh… Its fun to read about the lives of different people. ;) And sometimes, I feel like I kind of get to know the people whose blogs I go to often and after awhile, it feels weird when I feel I feel “unupdated”

  40. :D These are cute little faces Charles…I am not laughing “at” you…just more than smiling at you! (I do miss Mr. Green….lol)

Thank you honey for your kind words….And your visit today, too….Rainbows are so beautiful….
And Merci for the Award, too, my dear.

    • charles sier:

I will try to find smilies that has a mr. green though hehehehe. I think since you posted a comment now. I will just keep the one you sent me on the email.

I wasnt able to post it immediately since I wasnt at home

  41. vina sier:

yours is a great blog and you are real and sincere, and it just shows, charles!

    THAT’S ALL. :P

  42. Ed sier:

Congratulations on the Thinking Blog award, Lil’Bro’! You are very smart and make me think all the time. I live in what is called a Red Neck area. They all have guns and will vote for anybody who says he is against any kind of gun control. They don’t care what else he does as long as they can keep their weapons. That’s how we got that fool we have now for President.
If I comment a few times on a blog and they ignore me I stop reading them and move on. That is how I handle the cold fish. LOL. YOu don’t have to comment every time I know you are a busy young man. Love you. Hugs and Kisses to you and Odd.

  43. Sidney sier:

    Congrats! Well deserved!
Maybe some blogging “intellectuals” were afraid of typing the “butter my muffin” thing. ;-)

  44. Shari sier:

Congratulations on the award, Charles! And heck, every blog entry requires thinking. ;)

I usually don’t mind whenever I don’t receive comments from bloggers whose blogs I comment on. Minsan I don’t even leave comments on my regulars because I just have nothing to say. It’s better than leaving a “Hi, just dropping by” in the comment box, right? ;) So maybe the quasi-intellectuals do read and enjoy your blog, but for one reason or another, they’re contented on just reading. :D

The Virginia Tech massacre was surprising. But the fight guns with guns idea is even more so. Ahh, the way people’s minds work. If guns are criminalized, then they should remain to be criminalized. ‘Nuff said.

  45. Talamasca sier:

And heck, every blog entry requires thinking.

Shari, you don’t have the first fuh-reaking clue what you’re talking about. Admit it or not, stupid blogs made by stupid people for the stupid people exist! Hahahaha.

ZOMG I’m on your list? Thanks a bunch, Chas. I never really knew that I make some of y’all fire those neurons up. And thanks for still sticking around after all these years. Blog buddies forever! ZOMG I think I’m gonna cry now!!! LOL!!!

    Peace out.

  46. Amber sier:

Can’t particularly say I’ve found any of your entries ’skanky’…. Nice choice for your favourite blogs, I must say.

  47. silje sier:

    Congrats on the award(s)!

The US is pretty fucked up. I don’t understand why they haven’t enforced some gun control law by now. It’s the only country we hear about that regularly has school massacres like this one.

  48. I’m probably on number 6, right? Just kidding…

  49. Scott sier:

Congratulations. :) Although I’ve never read your blog before, I’m certain you must have deserved it. It’s quite difficult to pick out the blogs you enjoy most since there are definitely assloads of them as you noted, but I’ll give your recommendations a read.

  50. howling sier:

Bollocks! Anyone who can spell pornographic is definitely intellectual. Don’t worry dear, you are really smart and witty. And you got some pretty intellectual friends here as well. I don’t want to name names to avoid major ego traffic disaster here, but most of em’ are in my blog links. I’m pretty slow to update my blog so I just added you, actually.

Talamasca is the most egocentric snobbish intellectual I know. LOL!

  51. Fendi sier:

Am I too late to say CONGRATULATIONS? :)
But can I ask you Miss Chase? Do you really think harder when you blog? lol!

    Kiss
    Fendi

  52. Lexie sier:

I looove Bryanboy. :) He’s just so witty and funny and interesting. :) But I’ll have to check out the others on your list. Hehe. :)

  53. kat sier:

i totally get what you mean! but i love the fact that you are YOU and don’t pretend to be anything else. some blogs strive to be more than they are and come off as being pretentious and uninviting. you on the other hand, my queer, are all that and then some!

love your style and charisma! keep it going!

p.s. love the food you made at the other post! if i ever go to norway, i’m eating at your place! :D

  54. Anne sier:

WAIT! If quasi-intellectual bloggers avoid reading your blog…does that mean I’m stupid??? Damn, I knew it.

Well, I’ll keep reading anyway lol ’cause I love ya like that.

  55. AL sier:

    Hei Charles!!!!
:) I read Renny’s blog too and it is really nice to be recognized that way. Haven’t visited Winsome’s but I will…

Anyway, I am hoping you and Odd can come okies???? (Jeg vet at jeg er litt massete men…. ) Take care!!!

  56. vince sier:

how I wish I can shout here!!!!

    congratulations!!!!!!

  57. RennyBA sier:

I awarded you because you are well worth it my dear blogger friend:-)

I think your choice are excellent - some known and some new to me. Thanks for sharing!

  58. ribbiticus sier:

hi there! i second renny’s comment - you are definitely deserving of the honor that those 3 people bestowed on you. heller! at least, you’re true to yourself. plus the fact that you’re one of the genuinely nice people i’ve been fortunate enough to meet in this very random blogosphere. thank you so much for coming to visit my site despite your busy schedule. i will try to reciprocate with more visits (hopefully soon!). take care, k? 8)

  59. JMom sier:

OMG, I am so flattered you put me in the ‘thinking’ category!!! I see my blog as being simple and not as fancy or detailed as other food blogs, so I really appreciate that you think highly enough of my blog for the mention. Thanks, darling, I love you! :D

hehe! you just made my day. I know exactly what you mean about the quasi-intellectuals…been there too. But howell…. some of them I still read because I just love great writing that way. They don’t have to be my friends.

  60. Laureen sier:

oh, i have come across a number of people like that. yung tipong, you leave comments for them regularly and they never bother dropping by your bl
