Laundry List: From Ajax To Mr. Hollywood

I felt that I spent most of my Easter week glued to my computer. I was so busy fixing some things in my blog. Cleaning it up, upgrading Wordpress and fixed some pages that needed some fixing. Not to mention editing and subtitling this recent film we made. Here is the laundry list worth checking:

Laundry lady presenting my laundry list

1. I removed the Ajax commenting system since it doesn’t function on some of the pages I have. I also read that Ajax might be cool but it does more harm than good according to this article: Ajax Mistakes. So I just limit the use of Ajax on my pictures through Lightbox.

2. I guess you guys noticed that my recent entries were using footnotes. I never thought they can be so useful and I’d like to thank Ann. Since I discovered the usage of footnotes from her blog.

3. I used to miss this Philippine delicacy called chicharon1 but had my fix since in Norway you can buy similar to it which is called baconsvor2.

Norwegian baconsvor

4. Since I saw those lovely khakis from GAP I’ve been wanting to have one. But we don’t have GAP here. So basically my choices are H&M, Diesel, Acne Jeans, Cheap Monday and my favourite brand, Lee.

GAP khakis

5. Being a gadget freak here, I am tempted to buy these stuff:

A JVC videocamera which I saw in Vogue.

A new laptop which is called HP TX1020.

Probably I will buy the laptop first when I moved in with Odd soon. Or when my tax refund arrives. ;)

6. I’ve been having a pimple outbreak here. Even my Bodyshop Tea Tree Oil3 facial wash is not even helping. And I never had an outbreak before! It actually started when I began using this Bodyshop Hemp facial moisturiser. Gosh, can somebody help me? It’s a crisis!

7. Added some new sections in my blog. Most notably is the Lexicon section where you guys can drop some words or slangs that you made up or heard from somewhere out there.

8. I am not so into accessories but now I fancy these shades from Paul Smith.

Looks lovely!

9. My Norwegian father baked some lovely pizza for dinner. It is not hard to make one actually. All you need to do is make the dough (you can follow this pizza dough recipe here). Then use your imagination for the toppings. It doesn’t matter on what toppings you have there as long as it’s edible and tastes good!

The pizza I ate during my Easter dinner.

10. Finally, I am done with the film I am working as an editor/clipper. Btw, I am using Revver now since they pay you to upload some original films and post it. You can also check the YouTube link here.

Notes:

1. Chicharon is usually the skin of the pork after it has been seasoned and deep fried. You can check the wikipedia for more info. [back]

2. Baconsvor is more like a Norwegian term for pork rind or chicharon. [back]

3. Most of my toiletries and other skin essentials are bought at Bodyshop. [back]

Whew! I find writing this list quite exhausting! Anyway, Belated Happy Easter to all!

If I weren’t an ardent mac user, THAT’s the pc laptop I’d get…Nice!

Pimples? As an absolute last resort, get some antibiotics. Or just be patient with the tea tree.

    Happy Belated Easter!

  4. Ed sier:

Hey Lil Bro’Those shades look cool. Could you go to gap.com and order your Khakis? A new Laptop would be just so fine.
I use Nuetrogena Clear soap for acne break outs. Then I apply a moisturizer.
You will be a famous Director soon. Ingmar Bergman, Steven Spielberg, Chase Jordan. And the Oscar goes to: Chase Jordan!!!

  5. Talamasca sier:

No offense meant but I am kind of down on the whole footnotes thing. I dunno, it’s just tiring on my part to do lots of clicking here and there just to grasp what you’re talking about. And hello, this isn’t Wikipedia or a book or anything related to that. But hey, this is your blog! Do whatevah you want! 8)

I used to chow down on pork rind but I had to quit completely after watching some Pinoy documentary three years ago and my gawd, it showed how they prepare those stuff and it was totally gross! Now I’m pork rind free!

    • charles sier:

well there are pros and cons with footnotes but at least I dont need to explain the whole deal on my main post. I dont know I find it quite tiring and also breaks the whole point on some of my entries due to explanations alone.

Well pork rinds here are quite okay since Norway has strict rule on food processing.

  6. mats sier:

hmmm… i just messed my wordpress ;( and i can’t fix it coz i dunno much about css stuffs and the likes. :x

about tea tree oil from bodyshop, it’s great! all their products are actually good! but i have this product and i’m using it religiously… believe me, it works wonders! ;) if i have all the money, hope i could give you a sample! ;)

H&M?! hmmm, Madonna’s fashion line right? (am i?)

haha! anyway, mabibili mo din ang HP laptop na yun! ang ganda! :D

  7. sasha sier:

    Thanks for the visit, Chase!

  8. Paddy sier:

Ahhh! I had those pork things in japan! They’re awesome! As are your gadgets hehe, very jealous.

  9. I’ve been trying to change my template into something summery since hopefully its going to get warm soon - but I know its going to take me a full day of tinkering.

    Love your footnotes - fun!

  10. Ann sier:

    Them footnotes are handy.
    That laptop is THE SHIT!
And I loved your short film. Poor Johnny. lol

Happy Easter Monday Chase, regards and take care…….

    • charles sier:

I always wanted a Mac before but my friends told me not to and I think it is also practical not to get a Mac for now. Happy easter to you too! Well at least your comment is posted now and I was checking my anti spam as well but your comment is not there. So presume it was just a glitch.

  12. Ed sier:

Lil Bro’ I just got back from Wal-Mart and they had a package that said on it: Pork Rinds, Chicharones. I think that is Spanish.
Yor Zits will go away when you have time for more sex. Those hormones backing up can be bad when you are young. Hang in there. Hehehe!

  13. Anne sier:

8O That pizza looks FAB! Next time invite me! LOL

  14. Felisa sier:

Oh my gosh! I’m such a footnotes-whore! lol. I seriously have about 10 on some days.

Those baconsvor look good.. I’d like to try them. And that pizza? Ahhh that’s making me really hungry!

  15. Ms. Jimmi sier:

Oh! Pork rinds! I had orange flavor beef last night for Easter din-din.

  16. Well it would seem it is that Hemp stuff that is causing the pimples, my dear. Cut that out and see if it goes away! You may be allergic to something in that moisturizer, you know?

I have to come back Charles…I watched the first few minutes of the film-0–Funny! I LOVE “Bruce”….he reminds me of my cat…! LOL!

  17. Toe sier:

The baconsvor looks yummy! Oooh… and I want some of that pizza! :)

  18. fruityoaty sier:

Hehe… Ann was sold on the footnotes thing from Shari… who, well… I don’t know who sold her on the idea. Everyone seems to be playing footsies everywhere I go.

Chicharon… It’s a good thing I’m not a hardcore vegetarian any longer. I don’t eat it often, but I do like it now and again. And that pizza looks amazing. *drool* Also drooling at the techy gadgets. I’m a gadget whore and have to work doubly hard at not giving in to my impulses.

  19. Guys, remember to play Chas’ video until the very end so that he would be paid ^_^

  20. Pogi sier:

Nice tablet PC, shame most tablet PCs are low spec’ed.

Pizza looks delicious. I’m getting hungry again.

    Btw nice blog champ

    (^_^)

  21. Sidney sier:

    He, cool movie! Funny!
Well, with all the things you wish I hope you get a famous movi director soon.
“I’ve been having a pimple outbreak here.” Oh, that is because you are in love! ;-)

  22. aCey sier:

wow, chase! those are lots of changes. but good ones.

  23. Shoshana sier:

That is one long laundry list! I’ve never ever have chicharon. I lead such a boring life.

I watch the video, because I could, because all my children are asleep and not wanting to take over my keyboard. It’s very “Hollywood” with the intro. Love it!

  24. pieterbie sier:

Hey, that movie is pretty well shot. Technically OK, I would say. Sound is good as well. Either you have good material or you know how to use what you have.
I’m not in to filming, but my experience with photography tells me that it is not always the level of equipment that counts, but knowing how to use and make the most of what you have. These days with the vulgarisation of digital photography, anybody thinks they can make good photos.

My wife makes great pizzas. I’ve never tried my hand at that, maybe I should one of these days.

I like the slacks, I like wearing dockers.
And don’t tease me with IT stuff, I’m up to my ears in PCs as it is.

    • charles sier:

I would say we also had a good material as well as we know how to use it. Actually I wasnt impressed with the cameraman coz I worked doubly hard as the editor to save most of the clips. I do agree that some people thinks they can make good photos.

  25. Lyka Bergen sier:

Pimple Outbreak?… Is that from STRESS? I hope you are fine. Ching!

  26. mats sier:

dayum!!! what i’m actually thinking is MADONNA!
    lol

anyway, the best for you and your Odd. :)

  27. I adore the short clip! I like how the cat looked at the actor when he instructed it.

  28. ghee sier:

nice video film,Charles!you really have the skill. :)

i love the laptop!movable screen!ive seen exact one here!the camera and shades are cool too!!

    goodluck!hope you can have them!!

  29. K sier:

Such a geek you are Charles. I first learnt about the “note” plugin during my ‘i own a domain’ days and the one I can really recommend is for you to have the threaded “commenting” plugin. I am not sure if it’s going to work with the new WP version (you have probably seen that from Ate Beng’s blog. I told her to use that - I can’t remember the links for free downloads).

As for the laptops, I’m happy now with Apple, it’s 2months old and I’m “NOT GOING BACK”, if you know what I mean. And wow, I’ve been eye-ing on that shades from Paul Smith although I’m somewhat “broke” these days (and the coming months), I’ll keep my old shades from Giorgio Armani. Of course, I wanted the GUCCI or the ones from the Cutler and Gross.

Thanks for the gifts - are they on my way?

    • charles sier:

I was thinking about that actually so it would be easier on my part to answer comments. I will look for that plugin.

And I havent sent it out yet coz I am doing my shopping tomorrow for the prizes. Heheheh

I am planning to buy Mac but my Norwegian father told me to get a PC instead since if it breaks down it is easier to fix.

      • K sier:

YOU DID IT! Amazing and it looks really nifty here in my Mac. Now this was a tough challenge for you. You’ll get used to it real soon. Charles. Just give it a try and see if your readers preferred this.

        • charles sier:

It was a tough challenge indeed. I hope that I’ll get used to this threaded comment soon and I think it quite logical and easy for me to reply on comments as well.

  30. Juice sier:

    1. It’s good that you disabled Ajax. Sometimes I read blogs from a Nokia communicator and commenting with Ajax is just impossible.

    2. Footnotes are spiffy.

    3. I miss chicharon :(

    4. Khakis look good with almost anything. Hahaha loves it.

    5. LAPTOP!!

    6. Try Clearasil. : ) Though The Body Shop is really good.

    7. OOhhh, Lexicon.

    8. I love the sunglasses!!

    9. Yummy *drools*

    10. Ahh, rickey.org uses revver too.

    =)

    • charles sier:

yeah I am happy that I also disabled Ajax and now I am disabling gravatars for fast loading to other people as well.

Actually I am also allergic to Clearasil and got more outbreaks when I tried it.

  31. I’ve been busy the last few days and missed your “engagement” announcement. Congratulations!!!

I’m a footnotes whore. Believe me, MANY people click on them, as per my exprience with my blog stats. Its just amazing how bloggers have reached to a point of knowledge empowerment that many uninformed individuals rely so much on us (bloggers).

On wish lists? I have no idea what I want really, materially that is.

  32. RennyBA sier:

Good to know you had a great Holiday!
    The footnotes where great!
The vid was slow downloading and YouTube required that we are registered as friend?
    The pizza looks delicious:-)
    Have a great week!

    • charles sier:

I put the video on private mode for now since we are not allowed to upload films on Youtube unless we are done showing it at school which is by tomorrow.

  33. Mark sier:

But nothing beats Lapid’s Chicharon, or those you get from Cebu with the thick, crunchy fat. Yum! :-) Ooh, I am excited to get my tax refund, too. I’d use it for my trip to Manila in December. Woohoo!

I love the lead actor. I think he’s very cute. Introduce us! Hahaha!

  34. christian sier:

Really? Ajax has some errors? I was planning to implement it on my site, but not anymore.

    Cool! I want a laptop!

  35. tin-tin sier:

that’s an outline of what you have in your mind now and what you did these past few days. can’t see the video. there’s an error daw. you love chicharon? you’re from cebu right? i think it’s one of cebu’s delicacies. you’re moving with odd? i thought you two live together already. hehehe ;p

  36. jase sier:

    i love chicharon too :P

  37. Awaiting sier:

That film is badassssss! Love it! And now I’m all hungry, that pizza looks delish! I am so jealous! :)

  38. Kleo sier:

Here’s to better weeks ahead. I love a lotta the stuff you want, Chase…

    The pizza looks RAD!!

  39. Xerendipity sier:

I’m intrigue at the footnotes! Kinda new so far! U know what, Chase? You’ve got lots to have! I think you must have good visualization. Kindly check my site if you happen to get back ’bout “secrets”. Here:
    http://www.writinerary.com/xerendipitys-pick/

  40. sexy mom sier:

it must have taken you a lot of effort to put together your list (or was it easy?) and this reminds me about my having forgotten my “to do list”. foremost is to get a new laptop (but i am stubborn, i won’t settle for anything but a mac).

for your pimple breakout, maybe you are very very much in love (that was what i was made to believe when i was very very much younger years ago), and then, you have to have more sleep.

  41. ompong sier:

gusto ko yung Number 4, kasi wala akong pambili. gusto ko signature kasi bukod na nasa fashion na, eh matibay at comportable pa isuot.

  42. Shari sier:

That laptop looks cooooool! It can turn its head (monitor)? 8O And I’m sorry about the pimples. I’m having the same problem too.

  43. tani sier:

Nice shades! I also love chicharon. May favorite is Lapid’s. Good to know there’s baconsvor there for you. Have they already paid you in Revver?

  44. Raquel sier:

Philippine chicharon is still the best! :o

I like your new setting sa comment, madali lang basahin ang reply by the author.

  45. ralphT sier:

i’d agree that the khaki’s are nice though ;) lol

  46. michelle sier:

chicharon! pizza! YUMMY!!! i hope you get the HP laptop, as well as the other things on your list. Thank God for tax refunds, which is not in the vocabulary when you are in the Philippines. :-) thanks for the comment on my blog, by the way.

  47. duke sier:

I love the cam and the laptop! Very nice. When I came back from my recent trip. I brought some Chicharon! Cholesterol overload! :)

  48. Heyah how is it going???

Ohh I MISS CHICHARON!! Just passing by to see how you’re doin’

Miss yah Charles! Hope all is all! Take care!

  49. Nan sier:

I see you implemented threaded comments. I tried that too but of some reason they gave me a headache in the long run. They look great here though. I will miss buttering your muffin.

This friday I am going to make homemade Pizza - Yum!

    • charles sier:

I miss buttering the muffin too but this is the easiest way for me to answer questions and I think threaded comments are quite logical as well.

I also had a hard time implementing this plugin.

  50. alternati sier:

Cool new comment box. You’ve been productive!

The video was great, I love the anime influences involved.

Sorry bout the breakouts. They say eating greasy food may cause them. Say farewell to the chicharon! hehe

The eyewear looks chic! I love the color and the tinting.
